Pattern Spotlight – Lady Jessica Neckwarmer

I came across this gorgeous neck warmer on Ravelry a couple of years ago, and just had to knit it!

The Lady Jessica Neck Warmer

You knit the neck straight, and create the ruffles with a series of carefully planned increases.

The only thing I made sure to do was continue the edging from the top along the side edge near the ribbon holes to stop the fabric from curling – which stocking stitch is apt to do.

You can find the pattern and more information here.

I knitted my own version using Rowan Pure Wool Aran in grey, and Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in black to provide the edging. Be careful not to use a scratchy yarn as it might end up being too itchy being worn so close to the neck! Mine’s a little tight, and I could probably have done with knitting it on slightly larger needles to get a looser fit, but I used 5.5mm needles and I was worried 6mm might create too loose a fabric.
